Champ Total

Benchmark Wod 2

1RM Thruster
1RM Bench Press
1RM Overhead Squat

You will have 15 min for each lift and only 3 attempts at a single rep max effort.

Please have your personal game plan in writing and be ready to lift.

below is generic strategy for establisihing a max load in 3 attempts

  1. Start with your 3 rep previous best in that lift...or more depending on how you felt warming up.
  2. Go for previous 1RM or increase load based on how you felt in first lift
  3. shoot for a new PR or appropriate jump from lift 2.

What is the statute of limitations on Bench Press PR's? I was killing it in 1983, so I dont know if I have to beat that...

I'm pumped about a lil OHS action! Not so much about the thrusters...

It was a testosterone-fest for lunch crew AWWWESOME. I'm yelling at Dalton to bench big "C'mooonnn!! You can DO iT!" -- he looks up, "um, this is just my warm-up." It looked like a hella lota weight to me haha.
It feels wrong that my 1rm for thruster, bench AND OHS were all the same lol 120. Matty said at least I was balanced and not a specialist HAHA

Dalton-

dYeah loves to Get Low!

my goal is to PR, then tell everyone how easy it was. i'm confident about the smack-talk, but we'll see if i've got the numbers to back it up...

NICE work lunch crew. I'll keep this in mind when High Country Rugby starts practicing again in about a month. Remember, amazing strength and skills are just "cotton candy" if you don't put them to the test....and cotton candy is sweet nothin'.

Corey,
Funny you posted that video. Because that's exactly how I was doing them by the end of the 50 deadlift last Friday.
