A lot goes on at CFNA inside and out... during training hours and after. Anything we do that is not related to our actual training will be posted here.
Congrats to Tres Carpenter and his wife Dana. I just got the hospital room pic of their new little boy. This is their second chitlin... and since no name has been assigned his CFNA name shall be TRES DOS (you know like Ocho Cinco)
Hi everyone. I just started Kindergarten at E. Rivers and it is going great. My school's annual fundraiser with Innisbrook has begun. Innisbrook Wraps has beautifully designed gift wrap (which my mom says is really good) printed on quality recycled paper, coordinating gift wrap accessories, gourmet foods and fine Helen Grace Chocolates that make great gifts, Time Inc. magazine subscriptions, and more.
For every item that is purchased, Innisbrook donates up to 40% of the purchase price to my school. I also earn a prize credit for every item purchased. The more prize credits I earn, the more prizes I win!
I will be at the gym tonight with my sisters to show you all the neat stuff we are selling. I hope you'll stop by my table and check it out. My dad said he could make you do burpees if you didn't buy something but I told him that wouldn't be nice.
If you just want to buy stuff online you can do that as well. Just make sure to enter my school number and mine so we get the credit for your purchase.

CFNA's Michael James issued his pop Patrick a 365 day CrossFit Challenge. At about 100 days into it Patrick has lost over 60lbs! Patrick has kept a great blog of his journey here. It is very inspiring. Check out the day 67 WOD Team James did over here at CFNA.
The 5th annual Fight Gone Bad Fundraiser is coming up next month. Our friend Nick Cozzo over at CrossFit Smyrna has teamed up with a local Marine Corps Unit that is hosting the event at their facility near Dobbins Air Force Base in Smyrna.
Come out and support a great cause and have a great time. Proceeds from the charity event will go to support the Wounded Warrior Project, Livestrong, and the CrossFit Foundation. There will be physical activity, a tour of the facility, Marine Corps weapons and vehicle displays, live music, and great food and beverages.
CrossFit North Atlanta is 100% committed to this event. The gym will be closed that Saturday so that we can get as many folks out there as possible. Make it happen!
Date: Saturday 9/25/2010 Time: 9am-Work is done Location: 1880 Roswell St SE Smyrna, Ga 30080
Getting Crossed is the blog created by one of CFNA's newest Elements participants to share his experience with CrossFit.
Rich consults the Body Metrics crew and finally succumbed to the C*Diesel amount of peer pressure being given by Travis, Glenn, and Rooker. He's 4 days in and feeling (but loving!) the pain.
We've all been at the beginning, but often forget what it is like. Follow Rich in his journey. It's a pretty entertaining one.

Thanks to Karen and the CFNA CrossFit Kids Volunteer team, our summer program with Agape / GoGirlGo was complete success. We share this victory with all of our members that so graciously contributed to the cause ... we could not have done it without you!
Over the course of the 8-week program, these girls made tremendous gains! All of the age groups experienced significant improvements in physical abilities, motivation to exercise, knowledge and attitudes about nutrition and physical fitness, and their body composition.
In a post survey, 99% of the girls expressed a strong interest in continuing the CrossFit Kids program after the summer. They noticed increased energy, better sleep, and began to make better food and beverage choices. The girls told us they now enjoy exercising and the challenge of learning new skills. They feel stronger and are proud of the changes they have seen in their body.
Agape is interested in providing CrossFit Kids for ALL of the girls in their after-school program throughout the school year. We are currently woking with them to find the financial support required to make this a reality. Stay tuned for more details. This is just the begining of great things to come.
Checkout this great video of the GoGirlGo program. Karen's piece on CFNA's contribution is about halfway through.
Hanna (Twiggy) came to CFNA with a goal. She had to pass a physical fitness test to accept her job as an engineer on oil rigs overseas. After much hard work and determination, she passed and today is her last day in the USA! Hanna leaves tomorrow for a two year stint in China and Europe. Come join her at Six Feet Under tonight to celebrate and see her off CFNA style! Party starts at 8:00pm!
Lindsay and Steve (Scrappy) Mullen are celebreating the opening of their new State Farm Insurance Agency with an Open House today July 14th from 9am to 8pm. Food will be served all day.
